Particle Technology continues to provide challenges on a daily basis whether they are of academic or industrial interest. It is one of the most exciting interdisciplinary areas in science and engineering and has an enormous variety of applications spanning many industries, some of which include mining, pharmaceuticals, waste treatment, agriculture, food and chemicals. Particle Technology is continually developing and has profound effects on some 75% of chemical manufacturing processes.

The energetic and productive interchange of ideas is essential to the development of the discipline with input from experts from different countries enabling good idea interchange and application. I would like to invite you to the 4th World Congress on Particle Technology in the beautiful city of Sydney in July, 2001. It promises to be one of the best international conferences on Particle Technology ever held and interested people from all over the world are encouraged to come and join in. I can promise you a wonderful, relaxed time as well as an enormously productive meeting that will provide participants with wonderful memories and the opportunity to create valuable networks.
